Paul Edward Roberti, a charming and jovial character, passed away at the age of 74 on January 18th just before midnight surrounded by his immediate family. He was born in Kips Bay, NYC in 1948 and raised in the wilds of Oceanside, NY where he developed his love of the ocean, body boarding and surfing. A resident of Rockville Centre and West Hampton Beach, Paul was a keen horticulturist, lifelong NY Giants and Rangers fan, restaurateur, superb dancer, lover of libraries, literature, and the fine arts.
Built like a linebacker, he played football at Niagara University and rugby for the Westchester Rugby Club. Paul was a dedicated patriot and supporter of all branches of the US Military, particularly the US Marines. He was a civic minded man who consistently donated his time to several charitable organizations.
Paul was a Wall Street legend working at the top financial institutions as a Government Bond Trader for more than three decades. He once held the record for the largest successful securities trade in the US. For his second act, he embarked on an international career as a Treasury Advisor to the governments of the Republic of Georgia and Ukraine. His time spent abroad and the assistance he provided to secure democracy in these nascent republics were among his proudest accomplishments.
He is survived by his loving wife and dance partner of 53 years, Eileen Jane, his 3 children: Matthew (Kelly), Jessica Ann, Luke (Bernadette), grandchildren Madeline and Jack. He was a compassionate companion to all of the family's four legged creatures.
If you ever crossed paths, you left with an indelible impression and a new joke.
