Susan Broderick

Susan Broderick, of Alexandria, Virginia passed away on Dec. 3, 2022. Susan was born on Feb. 28, 1963. She grew up in Baldwin. Sue attended Baldwin High School, SUNY Cortland, SUNY Albany; where she received her received her bachelor’s degree and then continued her studies by receiving her law degree from St. John’s University. She became a Manhattan District Attorney and went on to later work in Washington DC. Susan is survived by her brothers Robert, Steven (Sandra) and David (Trici), her nieces and nephews Rowan, Brooke, Joey, Maribeth, Luke and Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and AnneMarie Broderick.

Susan fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and, unfortunately, after living cancer free for years it returned one year ago. Through it all Susan remained optimistic and said, “Sometimes the news is unbearable, but you just keep moving ahead, one step at a time”. She did this with grace, humor, spunk, a fighting spirit, and a positive attitude right up until the end. She was such a positive force for so many people and she really made a difference in many folk’s lives.
