In Loving Memory of Vasilios (Billy) Spirou
November 4, 1941 – October 24, 2025
Vasilios “Billy” Spirou, born in Cyprus, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. He was 83.
Billy is survived by the love of his life, his wife Demetra, with whom he shared 58 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering commitment. He was a proud father to four sons (Christos, Mario, George & Andy), cherished father-in-law to four daughters-in-law (Chrisoula, Rita, Roseann & Mercy), and a deeply adored grandfather to six grandchildren (Anna Maria, Dino, Demi, Demetra, Vasili, & Stazi)—his greatest joy
A man of deep faith, Billy found peace in his church, fulfillment in family gatherings, and serenity in fishing. He was a passionate sports fan, cheering faithfully for the Islanders, Jets, and Mets—teams that mirrored his loyalty and resilience. Billy was the embodiment of integrity and modesty. He worked tirelessly and selflessly, always placing his family’s needs above his own. His strength was quiet but unshakable, his devotion unwavering. He faced life’s challenges with grace, never seeking recognition, only the well-being of those he loved.
His sense of humor was legendary, his laugh infectious, and his storytelling unforgettable. He had a gift for making others feel at ease, for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Billy Spirou was more than a husband, father, and grandfather—he was a pillar of love and loyalty. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the family he built.
May his memory be eternal.
